Please watch Trinity Talks and the bulletin board for more information. This event is being sponsored by Thrivent and will be a fund raiser for the St. Mary's Hospital, St. Mary's Affiliates Program. The program has been described in the the last two issues of St. Mary's Hospital "Healthy Living" quarterly publication. More info will be coming in future Trinity Talks. For now mark you calendars for Friday, September 5th, for an evening of good eating, fun and fellowship with others in the Tri-County area.

Global Care Packages a ministry supported by Lutheran Hour Ministries and the Orphan Grain Train. Children around the world are forced to survive amid the horrors of war, natural disasters and poverty. Global Care Packages provides children with school supplies and toys that bring hope and joy to their desperate situations.
Here’s how the program works – Lutheran Hour Ministries supplies the bags – which can double as school bags for the children. We provide the items for the inside of the bags.
Finally, we will need $5 per bag for shipping and other materials. We send this directly to Lutheran Hour Ministries. If you would like to help with this program but aren’t able to shop for items, consider donating towards this effort. A jar for cash will be in the Narthex until August 24th.
We have made it our goal to fill 75 bags by August 24th. Please consider helping children in over 20 countries including the United States.
“…we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus Himself said: ‘it is more blessed to give than to receive.’” Acts 20:35

Here’s How We Are Serving in the Community...
   ✞Habitat for Humanity

Registration forms are available for our work camp week for Habitat for Humanity. We will work Monday–Friday, August 11th –16th. Workers must be 16 years of age and all experience levels are needed. Those who can not work on-site are invited to help prepare and serve lunches. Sign up sheets are on the “Fellowship” bulletin board. Look for a “food needs list” in the next couple of weeks.

   Mission is Everywhere

The word “mission” often implies traveling to another country to teach and work. The work done in foreign missions is important, of course, but we can’t all make the trip. What we can do, however, is be faithful servants where we live. Mission is about putting the face and name of Jesus in front of those who don’t know him. We can do that in many ways — any place and any day. -from the NewsletterNewsletter
